2 weeks ago my little boy fell over at home and cut his chin open. I took him to the docs and he had steri strips put over and all was well. Took them off 5 days and although he will have a scar it is healing nicely.
Today, he was messing about with his dad and he fell over and cut it open again!!! Not much blood but did look nasty so took him down to the local A&E department. It was very busy for a Saturday afternoon. I just assumed it would be busy after footie had all finished, but no.
We sat in the paediatrics part of A&E where there were 2 obnxious kids strutting around and being foul mouthed who were waiting for xrays and a tiny baby of 2 weeks who had something wrong with his fingers. Mum was obviously upset and very tearful and she put it down to lack of sleep. I could hear her partner saying she would just have to get over it!! Now, if you are reading this and are a mum, you will know that in those first few weeks the tiredness really does get to you and to be told to get over it is not something that goes down very well!!!! I really felt for this poor lady, but what can you say.
My little lad was called to have his chin seen to and just as we were going through I saw one of my little mindees being brought in by her mum and 2 ambulance crew. The poor little mite was having problems breathing again and 2 lots of nebuliser werent stabilising her. After my little lad was seen to I went to sit with mum and daughter and gave mum a break. It was horrible to see her like that, especially as we had such a fantastic week. She was so quiet and obviously very tired but couldnt sleep.
I was going to wait with her until dad came along but my lad was getting fed up after a while so we had to leave.
Am waiting now to hear whether she has come home or not or whether she has had to stay in. If she was going to be admitted then she would have had to go to another hospital as the childrens wards there were closed because of some bug.
Wishing you a speedy recover little girl
